What does Shelfmeadow: Category Ready do?

It shows which of your products Shopify Catalog may leave out of AI shopping channels and Shop. It then helps you give uncategorized products the right Shopify product category, in bulk.

Getting started

1. Install the app and open it from Apps in your Shopify admin.
2. On the home page, click Scan my products (later: Scan again). Scanning reads your products and changes nothing. To scan part of your catalog, set a status, tag, or collection filter before you scan.
3. Read the catalog check. It counts products missing a category, image, title, a price above 0, active status, or publishing.
4. Open Review suggestions in the app menu. Each product shows a suggested category and its confidence (High, Medium, or Low). Tick Show low confidence to check unsure picks before the rest.
5. Tick the ones you agree with and click Apply selected, or click Apply all High.

Undo

Open Undo history in the app menu. Click Undo next to a product, or Undo whole batch. Changes can be undone for 30 days.

FAQ

Will it change anything without asking?

No. Categories are set when you click Apply, and not before. Exception: on Pro, new products get a category automatically when the pick is High or Medium confidence. Low-confidence picks wait for your review. Every automatic change can be undone in Undo history.

Does it fix images or prices?

No. It flags them, and you can download a CSV list of products that need work to fix them in Shopify.

Is the suggested category guaranteed correct?

No. Please check before applying. Shopify uses categories for tax and channels, and the merchant is responsible for them. This isn't tax advice.

Does Shopify already suggest categories?

Yes, one product at a time, and you must click Accept. Products added by CSV or other apps can stay uncategorized. Shelfmeadow: Category Ready handles them in bulk, with a store-wide report and undo.

Does it guarantee I'll show up in ChatGPT or other AI channels?

No. It checks Shopify's published requirements. Each AI platform decides what it shows.

What data does it access?

Products. It never accesses customers or orders. See our Privacy Policy.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Starter and Pro include a 14-day free trial, billed through Shopify. You are not charged if you cancel during the trial. There is one trial per store: switching plans or subscribing again uses the days you have left.

How do I change or cancel my plan?

Open Plan in the app menu and pick a plan. Uninstalling cancels billing automatically through Shopify.

Does undo give back my free changes?

Yes. On the Free plan, every category change you undo is added back to your 50 free changes.

How do I uninstall?

Shopify admin → Settings → Apps → Shelfmeadow: Category Ready → Uninstall. We delete your data within 48 hours.

Troubleshooting

• Scan seems slow: large catalogs can take a while. The home page shows progress (for example "120 of 5,000"), and the scan keeps running if you leave the page.
• "Couldn't apply" on some products: the product may have been edited or deleted during the scan. Run a new scan.

Reinstalling

Install it again from the Shopify App Store, then open it from Apps in your Shopify admin.
